The person behind the camera
I photographed my first wedding at nineteen because the hired photographer didn't show up. The pictures were technically terrible and the family cried over them anyway — that's when I understood the job: feeling first, f-stops later.
Eleven years on, I shoot around eighteen weddings a year — never two on one weekend — plus editorial work for magazines that lets me keep seeing like an outsider. I work with one associate, deliver in six weeks, and answer my own messages.
