Recovery is measured in weeks, not promises.

Sports and orthopaedic physiotherapist — MPT, eleven years, 6,000+ patients from post-surgical knees to first-time marathoners. Exercise-first, machines-second, and a written plan with dates on it from day one. If I think you need a surgeon instead, I'll say so at the assessment.

What I treat

Post-surgical rehab

ACL, meniscus, rotator cuff, joint replacements, spinal fixation. Protocol-driven, surgeon-coordinated, progressed by test results — not by the calendar alone.

Works with 11 referring surgeons

Sports injuries

Runners, footballers, gym injuries and the weekend-cricket hamstring. Return-to-sport testing before clearance — because "it feels fine" re-tears.

340+ athletes returned to sport

Back & neck pain

Disc bulges, sciatica, desk-job stiffness. Mostly exercise and load management; imaging findings explained honestly — most "slipped discs" don't need panic.

80% resolve without injections

Chronic pain & stiffness

Frozen shoulder, tennis elbow, plantar fasciitis, arthritis. The slow conditions — where honest timelines matter more than quick-fix machines.

Written timeline at session one

Neuro rehab

Post-stroke mobility, Parkinson's gait work, balance retraining for older adults — at the clinic or at home, with family trained as co-therapists.

Home programmes, family-taught

Falls & healthy ageing

Strength and balance programmes for the 65+ — the single highest-return physiotherapy there is. Group sessions twice a week at the clinic.

Method

How treatment works here

1

Assessment — 60 min

Movement testing, strength measures, history, imaging review. You leave knowing the diagnosis, the plan and the expected number of sessions.

2

The written plan

Milestones with dates: range by week 3, strength by week 8, running by week 12. You always know what "on track" means.

3

Sessions + homework

Hands-on work in clinic; a 20-minute daily programme on your phone. The homework is the treatment — sessions are course corrections.

4

Test, then discharge

Objective re-testing against your baseline. When the numbers clear, you're discharged — with a maintenance plan, not a dependency.

What I don't do: indefinite "maintenance" sessions, machine-only treatments, or ten-session packages sold before I've examined you. Average discharge here is 9.2 sessions; some knees take two; ACLs take six months. You'll know which you are on day one.

ACL reconstruction · footballer, 24

From surgery table to full match — 26 weeks

Post-op day 3 to return-to-play testing: quad symmetry from 41% to 94%, hop tests passed at week 22, cleared at 26 weeks — two weeks later than he wanted, because week-24 numbers weren't there. He argued; the chart won. Eighteen months on, no re-injury, still playing weekly league.

RTP: 26 weeks

Chronic low back pain · accountant, 47

Nine years of pain, twelve weeks of loading

Arrived with three MRI reports, a lumbar belt and a fear of bending. We spent the first session reading his scans together — degenerative changes normal for his age, nothing dangerous. Then twelve weeks of graded deadlifting, starting with a broomstick. He now lifts 60 kg and carries his daughter upstairs. The belt is in a drawer.

Post-stroke · retired teacher, 68

Bed to morning walk — with her family as the team

Right-side weakness after a stroke; her daughters wanted daily home visits forever. Instead I trained them as co-therapists: two visits a week from me, daily sessions run by family with video check-ins. Ten months later she walks 2 km every morning, holding a stick she mostly doesn't need. The daughters now spot gait changes before I do.

About

Why physiotherapy

A torn ligament ended my own district-level football at nineteen — and the rehab was so badly done, so vague and machine-heavy, that I limped for two extra years out of pure mismanagement. I became a physiotherapist to be the person I needed in that clinic: someone with a plan, a timeline and the honesty to say what they don't know.

MPT in sports physiotherapy, five years in a corporate hospital's ortho ward, three years with a professional football academy, and since 2020 my own clinic in Bandra. The academy years shaped me most: athletes demand numbers, and every patient deserves the same rigour.

"Pain is data, not a verdict. My job is to teach your body — and you — to read it correctly."

Surgeons & patients say

Referring surgeon

"I send Kunal my ACLs because he doesn't clear them early to please them. His week-by-week reports are better documentation than most hospital departments produce."

Arthroscopy surgeon, MumbaiReferring since 2019

Patient · back pain

"Three clinics gave me heat packs and ultrasound for a year. Kunal gave me a barbell and a timeline. I was angry at session one, sceptical at week four, and pain-free by week ten. I still do the homework."
