Groups of 12 · the shala
Hatha, taught slowly
Classical asana, pranayama and ten honest minutes of savasana. No music, no mirrors, no performance — the room is quiet enough to hear your own breath.
Hatha and prenatal yoga, taught the traditional way — slowly, with attention to every body in the room. RYT-500, nine years, 4,000+ hours of teaching, and students who started with back pain and stayed for a decade.

Small groups of 6 · Tue & Thu
Trained specifically for pregnancy — what to strengthen, what to release, what to skip entirely. Doctor's clearance required; partners welcome once a month.
One-on-one · home or shala
For injuries, chronic pain, or a practice built around your body. Starts with a one-hour assessment and a written plan your physiotherapist can read.
No unlimited-classes memberships, no lock-in contracts. Yoga three times a week, done consistently, beats seven days of enthusiasm followed by a cancelled subscription.
"Flexibility is not the goal. It is a side effect. The goal is a nervous system that trusts you again."
What I tell every new student
Shared with permission, names changed. Yoga's results are slow and boring — which is exactly why they last.
Desk back · started 2022
Fifteen years of software, an L4-L5 disc bulge, and a surgeon offering an operation. His physio suggested yoga first. We spent six months on basics — hip hinges, gentle backbends, breath. Surgery indefinitely postponed, per his own orthopaedist.
Prenatal · two pregnancies
Joined at 16 weeks with her first baby, terrified of everything. We worked on strength she could trust and breath for labour. Her second pregnancy, she walked in at 12 weeks like she owned the room. Her obstetrician now sends me two referrals a month.
Anxiety · started 2023
She came for flexibility and spent the first month unable to lie still for five minutes. We never discussed anxiety directly — we just practised. Eight months in, she fell asleep in savasana, and the whole class smiled.
I found yoga the unglamorous way: a corporate job, a frozen shoulder at 28, and a physiotherapist who said "the exercises will fix the shoulder, but something else is holding it." Six months of practice fixed the shoulder. The something else took longer — and became the career.
I trained in Rishikesh and then apprenticed for three years under a teacher in Mylapore who made me re-learn everything slowly. I teach hatha because it's what changed me: unhurried, precise, and honest about the fact that the mind is the hardest muscle in the room.
"I don't teach twenty-five-pose sequences. I teach five poses, properly, until your body stops negotiating with them."

Students say
Student · 6 years
"I've tried gyms, apps and two other studios. Meera's class is the only place where someone noticed my left knee before I mentioned it. Six years, and my mat is non-negotiable now."

"I send my prenatal patients to Meera because she knows exactly where her scope ends and mine begins. Her students arrive at delivery stronger and calmer — measurably so."
