Every business is people solving a problem.

13 years teaching Business Studies — turning a chapter-heavy theory subject into a living one. I teach principles through real companies, run case studies and mock pitches, and make sure students can explain not just what a business does but why. Board marks follow; commercial sense is the real result.

Every business is people solving a problem

I spent four years in marketing before teaching, and I came to the classroom frustrated that Business Studies was taught as if no actual business existed. Students could recite the principles of management and not explain a single decision a real company had made. Thirteen years later, changing that is still the whole job.

My classes run on companies students already care about — how a food-delivery app makes money, why a sneaker brand priced a drop the way it did. The theory becomes obvious once it has a story. Alongside strong board results, forty of my students have built and pitched real venture ideas, and a handful are now running actual businesses.

If your school or institute wants a Business Studies teacher who delivers board results and commercial understanding — with real industry experience behind the theory, comfortable across CBSE and ISC — my track record and references are ready. Give me your class that finds the subject dry; I'll make it the one they argue about.

Theory in the book, business in the room

Business Studies is usually taught as a list to memorise — functions of management, principles of Fayol, types of this and that. Students pass and understand nothing. I teach every concept through a real company they already know, so the theory has a face and a story attached. When a student can explain why a brand they use made a decision, the exam is easy — and, more importantly, they've learned to think commercially.

  1. AnchorEvery concept starts with a real business the students know — the theory is the explanation, not the starting point.
  2. CaseWe work real and simulated cases, arguing the decisions. Business is judgement, and judgement is practised.
  3. PitchStudents build and pitch their own venture ideas across the year — applying every function of management for real.
  4. ExamThen the board technique: keywords, structure, value points. Understanding first, marks-scoring polish second.

My son used to call the subject 'boring theory'. He scored 96 and now wants to do a BBA. She made it real for him.

The venture we pitched in her class is now a real side business. She taught us to think like founders, not just pass exams.
